Message from our club President
As the Haverhill Garden Club begins its 44th year, I would like to take
this opportunity to welcome all our new members and to welcome back our
past gardeners. We are hoping to have a very exciting and productive year.
Numerous varied and interesting programs, field trips, workshops and general
activities have been planned.
Many of our long standing projecst, as well as many new things are on
the horizon. We will once again be doing the Arbor Day Tree planting
and continuing with the Garden of the Month and the Garden Therapy programs.
We are hoping to focus on our Civic Gardens throughout the year. This
will be a great way to give our members an opportunity to work together
on this beautification project for our community.
As individuals, we all have our definition of what a gardener is and
what we would like to achieve. Is it to produce a showcase garden? Grow
our own flowers and vegetables for consumption? Use gardening as a means
of health and wellness?
Be a small step in the ecology movement? Or perhaps our gardens are just
to be used as a place of peace and serenity for us. Whatever your definition
of Gardening is, I hope that the Haverhill Garden Club will be able in some
small way to help you to attain your goal. Education, knowledge, hard work
are just a few of the components that make up successful gardening, but
here at our Haverhill Garden Club I would like to add Friendship, Support
and a good dose of Fun.
Happy Gardening!
